CHARACTERISTICS & CONCERNS

People who choose to work with me often have the most exquisite, yet tortured minds. It is an honor to hold their stories in time and space. Our work together can lead to a deeper exploration of the psyche, searching for shimmering nuances of existential congruence that lead to genuine ways of being.

  • Intersection of neurodivergence + trauma + sexuality.

  • Neurodivergence-related assessment (Autism + trauma intersection).

  • Deconstruction of shame (i.e., religious, historical messaging, societal, sexual, bullying, abuse/neglect, etc.).

  • Adult Kinetic Cognitive Styles (ADHD) and/or Autistic characteristics - acceptance and navigation while existing in a societal framework that requires forced impositions of conformity.

  • Relationships/Individuals who wish to cultivate meaning through intimacy.

  • Adults who have experienced harm from other healthcare professionals.

  • Sexual anxiety, shame free sex-education, and challenges related to erotic marginalization.

  • Childhood trauma, adult inner child work, adult 'play' therapy.

  • BDSM/Kink related healing support.

  • Forensic traumatology.

HOW I HELP

I wholeheartedly honor and accept both the wonderful - and the terrible - suffering that comes with the human experience. I often show up with my humanity in session through humor, presence, and a keen attention to detail. I enjoy a good 'care-frontation' and I'm not afraid of shedding a tear while holding the pain of the person across from me.

First and foremost, I lead with an ethical and trauma-trained disposition in all that I do professionally and personally. As a curious professional who profoundly understands the nature of the human mind, my approach is integrative. My philosophical foundation is rooted in social constructivism and a deep humanistic presence, while my clinical lens is systemic. I often use postmodern interventions, primarily from the narrative approach such as deconstruction, re-storying, and honoring the power and function of words. I dig deep to better understand the constructs that both serve (and no longer serve) clients in their present state of being.

AS A HUMAN

For anyone still reading this bio if you are interested in philosophical stances and theoretical frameworks, this section is for you! I naturally perceive the world through a social constructivist perspective, especially in the realms of consent, autonomy, the archaeology of knowledge, and the powerful sway of semantics. I appreciate Aurelius's stoicism, and Nietzsche's dark and twisty provocation of wonder. Poetically, I admire the seductive grit expressed by Kalen Dion, and the transformative words of a true goddess, Maya Angelou.

I love the riff of Jack White on a guitar and the realness of Ryan Bingham's lyrics. Like my fellow kinetically fueled brains, I focus best with predictable beats from as Nico Moreno and Josh Wink and I hope to be a "Ph.Dj" in my next career.

I am a therapist, clinical supervisor, ethics consultant, professor, and researcher. I enjoy retro stickers and self-care collages and the satisfaction of putting wax seals on envelopes. I am a collector of vintage typewriters, rescue plants, edgy poetry, and deep, philosophical dialogue that scratches my incessant intellectual itch.
