Welcome!
My Approach
My passion within counseling is helping individuals discover paths towards lasting happiness. The study of happiness (called Positive Psychology) has been an interest of mine for several years. My goal for my clients is not only to help them through their current issues, but also to promote resilience and identify individual strengths that can be used towards a joyful existence.
I believe the therapeutic experience is most effective when it is geared appropriately to the clients’ needs. I have experience using several forms of therapeutic interventions (listed above) and strive to find the best one that fits my clients’ needs. My personal style reflects my belief in the cognitive behavioral model. In session, I help my clients identify negative thought
patterns and offer tools that can be used to reframe or reject them. I often use a Strengths-Based approach with my clients because I believe positive reinforcement is always preferable to negative reinforcement. For whatever you are going through, know that you do not have to go through it alone. If you think that we may be a good fit, please feel free to reach out!
About Me
I am a born and raised Texan who loves all things BBQ but melts as soon as the temperature hits 90 degrees. I’m a huge nerd when it comes to fantasy/sci-fi series’ (think LOTR, Star Wars, etc.) and I also have a growing collection of Pokémon cards that you may be able to spot in my office background. I also love reading, writing, and playing video games. I am one of the most extroverted introverts this planet has ever seen! These books will give you some understanding of the inner machinations of my mind: The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Man’s Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl, Ikigai by Hector Garcia.
