CHARACTERISTICS & CONCERNS

My patients often have the most exquisite, yet tortured minds. It is an honor to hold their innocently wounded stories in time and space. My work leads to a deeper exploration of the labyrinth within the psyche in search for shimmering nuances of existential congruence.

  • Intersection of neurodivergence and sexuality.

  • Neurodivergence-related assessment (Autism, ADHD, trauma-acquired neurodivergence).

  • Deconstruction of shame (i.e., religious, historical messaging, societal, sexual, bullying, abuse/neglect, etc.)

  • Adult Kinetic Cognitive Styles (ADHD) and/or Autistic characteristics - acceptance and navigation while existing in a societal framework that requires forced impositions of conformity.

  • Relationships/Individuals who wish to cultivate meaning, intimacy, and authenticity.

  • Individuals who have experienced 'intervention trauma' or medical gaslighting/trauma.

  • Sexual anxiety, shame free sex-education, and erotic marginalization

  • Childhood trauma, adult inner child work, adult 'play' therapy.

  • BDSM/Kink related healing support.

  • Forensic traumatology.

HOW I HELP

I wholeheartedly honor and accept both the wonderful and the terrible suffering that comes with the human experience. I often lead with my humanity in session through humor, presence, and the occasional validation of challenging the archaic "blank slate" mentality. I enjoy a good 'care-frontation' and I'm not afraid of shedding a tear while holding the pain of the person across from me.

I embrace a creative narrative stance of re-storying and the power of words. I believe in the process of making our emotions tangible through externalization (i.e., verbal personification of artistic expression) and often integrate relational cultural tenets. I place an emphasis on connection, existential meaning, and amplification of silenced voices.

I dig deep to better understand the constructs that both serve (and no longer serve) patients in their present state of being. This is conducted through extensive trauma-trained inner child work, an affirming lens for diverse neurotypes and erotically marginalized folks.

AS A HUMAN

For folks who are interested in philosophical stances and theoretical frameworks, I naturally perceive the world through a Foucauldian social constructivist perspective, especially in the realms of: consent in power dynamics, the archaeology of knowledge, and the sway of semantics. I also appreciate Aurelius's stoicism, and Nietzsche's dark and twisty provocation of wonder. Poetically, I admire the truthful grit expressed by Kalen Dion, and the transformative words of a true goddess, Maya Angelou.

I love the riff of Jack White on a guitar and the realness of Ryan Bingham's lyrics. Like my fellow kinetically fueled brains, I focus best with predictable, bass-hitting beats and a, a wanna-be Ph.Dj in my next career.

I am a therapist, clinical supervisor, ethics consultant, professor, and researcher. I enjoy retro sticker collages (like the banner - scroll up and the one to the right) and the satisfaction of putting wax seals on envelopes. I am also a lover of vintage typewriters, rescue plants, edgy poetry, and deep, philosophical conversations that scratch my incessant intellectual itch.
