Meet Juan...
My Approach
I believe the counseling journey is most successful when you meet the client where they are. Every person’s story is unique, and I adapt my approach to meet their specific needs, challenges, and goals. My style leans towards a humanistic approach, which means I place a strong emphasis on developing an authentic, trusting relationship with my clients. I strive to create a warm and supportive space where you feel comfortable exploring your past, understanding your present, and imagining your future without judgment.
I approach counseling through an individual, cultural, and systemic lens, recognizing how personal history, cultural identity, and broader social systems influence our experiences. My work is trauma-informed, meaning I prioritize emotional safety, stability, and empowerment in every stage of the process. I believe that healing happens best when clients feel seen, understood, and respected, so I take time to listen deeply, collaborate closely, and build on the strengths you already have. My goal is to help you gain insight, develop new skills, and create meaningful changes that improve your overall well-being and quality of life.
About Me
I’m a big believer in finding joy in the little things. For me, that means cheering on Liverpool FC and FC Dallas on game days, listening to music, and building the occasional Lego set. The joy of spending time with my wife in the evenings often involves relaxing together playing video games with our friends, or watching a good show surrounded by our cats and dog. Those simple, fun moments help keep me grounded and remind me how important connection and balance are both in life and in therapy.
