Welcome
It’s courageous to seek help. Whether you are a first-timer to therapy or you have been on your healing journey for years, I am glad our paths are crossing.
I decided to become a relational therapist because I believe that our problems don’t exist in a vacuum. We are all part of complex systems that may include our families of origin, our chosen families, our various cultures & subcultures, etc. One beautiful thing about therapy, in my opinion, is that when we work on ourselves, the positive effects tend to ripple out into our communities.
My Approach
I tend to meet my clients where they are and tailor sessions to their needs. Some clients prefer free flowing sessions and others prefer more structured sessions. As desired, I offer clients new tools/skills and “homework” to try out in between sessions.
My Clients
Clients come to therapy because something feels “off” in their lives. Sometimes their past trauma rears its head in the present moment and prevents them from experiencing the deep connection with others that they crave. Clients may find themselves stuck in patterns that feel out of alignment with their goals and values.
Through working collaboratively together and the supportive bond of our relationship, clients can become unstuck. They can begin to feel emotionally lighter and more regulated, and capable of living life on their own terms.
In relational work, I focus on helping partners to develop the communication and emotional regulation skills needed for authentic dialogue. Clients might need help voicing their desires, clarifying their personal needs, and achieving compromise. We work together to help partners create a shared vision. I believe that all my clients have innate wisdom and are capable of developing nourishing relationships - with themselves and others.
As a human...
My dream day would include spending time with my long-term partner and our high-energy pup in nature; enjoying some quiet contemplative time; meeting good friends for coffee or a sweet treat; and cozily watching a film.
